The Bottom Line
Bias:
- The stock market is in an uptrend on both a short and long-term basis.
- While the summer months are typically bad for stocks and sentiment is currently negative, the weight of the evidence is Bullish for the stock market.
Client Update
Client accounts are fully invested with about 45% – 70% allocated in Equity Funds, 30% in Preferred Security Funds and a Corporate Bond Fund. This has been our allocation for some time now and I have only had to make minor changes this year.
The S&P 500 is above both it’s 50 and 200-day moving average.
The bottom line is the stock market is in an uptrend, and market breadth is positive. Market conditions remain positive for being invested in equities.
On a Personal Note
We made it to Louisiana! Moving across the country is not easy, but the hardest part is behind us. We sold our house, boxed up our stuff, moved vehicles and dogs across the country, and are now waiting for the movers to hopefully arrive this week.
Our son, Aidan, was not as excited as we were about the move. He had concerns about leaving friends and moving to a place that was going to be considerably hotter than California. However, he seems to discover things that he likes about our new home in the simplest of places. Upon our arrival, we took him to a local grocery store that was filled with all kinds of Cajun cuisine. The first thing out of his mouth was “wow, this place is so cool!” Here is a picture of him with his new favorite soda – Swamp Pop.
